Nichols recognized as a “Fighter for Free Enterprise”

February 06, 2008

Austin--Last week State Senator Robert Nichols (R-Nichols) was presented with a certificate to recognize his achievement as a fighter for free enterprise, a distinction made by the Texas Association of Business.

“Maintaining a healthy business climate is essential to promoting prosperity and economic growth in Texas,” said Nichols. “I’m honored by this recognition from the Texas Association of Business.”

After each legislative session, the TAB evaluates key votes from Texas House and Senate members and rewards those with pro-business records. As the founder of four successful manufacturing businesses, Nichols understands the importance of supporting business-friendly policies.

“Strong businesses lead to strong communities,” said Nichols. “By helping Texas businesses we create jobs, economic stability and a larger tax base for our state.”

Nichols has made economic development a priority during his first year as a state senator. In addition to authoring and sponsoring legislation to help East Texas companies, Nichols also co-hosted the East Texas Economic Development Summit last November.
