Austin—Tuesday, HB 872 by Rep. John Otto (R-Dayton) and sponsored by Sen. Robert Nichols (R-Jacksonville) was approved by the Legislature after unanimously passing the Senate. The bill, which previously passed the House without opposition, raises the penalty for tampering with evidence from a third degree felony to a second degree felony.

Austin—Today, the Texas House unanimously approved SB 802 by Sen. Robert Nichols (R-Jacksonville) to help the state better understand and prevent child fatalities. SB 802, which was previously approved by the Senate, adds a member from the Texas Department of Transportation and a member from the Department of Public Safety to the State Child Fatality Review Team Committee.

Austin—Today the Texas House of Representatives approved SB 1659 authorizing a partnership between the cities of Rusk and Palestine which will ensure the railroad keeps running. The bill is also the first authored by freshman Sen. Robert Nichols (R-Jacksonville) to pass through both the House and the Senate.
