Austin—On Monday the 80th Legislative ended, which marked the end of a successful first session for Sen. Robert Nichols (R-Jacksonville).
Austin—The following is from Sen. Robert Nichols (R-Jacksonville) who is a member of the SB 792 conference committee and first proposed a two-year moratorium on private equity toll roads when he filed SB 1267.
Austin—Today, the Sabine River Authority finalized an agreement with the power company to help keep the Toledo Bend Lake level high. Legislators who helped facilitate the agreement praised the action.
Austin—Last night the Senate unanimously passed House Bill 1495 to require governments that condemn private property to provide landowners a clear, timely notification of their rights. Authored by Rep. Bill Callegari (R-Houston) and sponsored by Sen. Robert Nichols (R-Jacksonville), the bill passed the House of Representatives earlier this month without opposition.
